Old company, new management; what are the chances of good chemistry that will evolve?
Beginning of this year, we have changed our MD and with this new MD, he has brought in more foreign talent of his own race/culture. It's a natural instinct that people are more comfortable with their own culture/race/country.
The main difference we see is whoever is in power can bring in their own people to the company. Previously the Indians are in power and he brings in all the Indians to this company. Now the Indian have lose the power and new management bring in more European. Though the Indian still remains in company but they have not much said about anything.
With the new management in, many things have changed and now is a good start when they implement flexi hours to staff. We can choose to work from 8-5, 9-6 or 10-7. I have changed my work time to 8-5 where I have more time to bring Grant out during the evening. Now we have time to go swimming and exercise after I fetch back from school.
Yes I am tired everyday where I have to wake up at 6am for work but at least I have more time with my family. Work is not my priority now because I see how the people at work treat each other and the management attitude towards the staff. What's the point I work hard for them where they don't appreciate me. They only appreciate people who talks good thing to them and don't see work efficiency in others.
The real society is practical and now nobody talks about good relation with colleagues/customers. They talk about what people want to hear only. The world is becoming worse or maybe our country is making us sick of our job. High pressure, high workload, high expenses. Everything is high but why our pay is not high enough to match all these? We work to become in debt for everything. Everything is getting expensive including food.
The fluctuation in the world is getting too fast. Going up too fast and making the low and average income people suffer. Doesn't mean you get your degree you get high income.
When the company is having so many problems with the politics between old and new management, the staff at the lower level is not feeling secure too. Who likes to work in a company without harmony and having politics flying around everyday. Top management having spy around you and nobody knows who is the angel and devil. Best thing to do is to keep quiet and do your work. That's what I am doing for the past. Talk to colleagues only on outside stuff like food, clothes, travel and seldom gossip. I only listen to gossip but don't go around and tell tales.
Working is parts of life and right now I can only work for money so that my family can have a better life. When my babies grow up, I should plan on something else.
